About

This is a Phase 3 clinical research study looking at whether an investigational medicine may help reduce cannabis withdrawal symptoms in adults with cannabis use disorder (CUD). The study is randomized and double-blind, meaning neither you nor the study team will know which study treatment you are assigned to receive. The study is sponsored by a pharmaceutical company and is conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and the Declaration of Helsinki.

What to expect

  • Stay at an inpatient research unit for approximately 7 days (overnight stays on Days 1 through 6), where the study team will monitor your health and administer the study medicine.
  • Attend outpatient clinic visits after discharge, from approximately Day 8 through Day 49.
  • Complete daily evening video check-in calls with the study team through approximately Day 35.
  • Receive a telephone follow-up call approximately 30 days after your last dose to check on your health.
Who qualifies
  • Adults ages 18 to 55 years old
  • Have received a diagnosis of cannabis use disorder (CUD) based on DSM-5 criteria, confirmed by a qualified study clinician
  • Currently use cannabis regularly and are willing to stop cannabis use after the study randomization date
  • Must have used cannabis during the Screening period, including on the day before randomization
  • Urine drug screen must be positive for THC at Screening and on the day of randomization
  • Urine drug screen must be negative for all other excluded or illicit substances at Screening and on the day of randomization, and negative for alcohol on the day of randomization
